Through serendipitous synchronicity, a team has come together to create a film documenting the story of Holocaust survivor Ivor Perl BEM.
Ivor was 12 years old when he and his brother Alec arrived at the Auschwitz concentration camp from Hungary. They lost their entire family, including their parents and seven siblings, before being liberated from Dachau.
The film, 23, from Rockman and Rockman Studio. It is the result of a collaboration between Nigel Canin, founder of 2Simple and Lemon Soul (the new publishing house set up in honour of Jonny Zucker and publishers of Ivor’s book, Chicken Soup Under The Tree), and Exceptional Agency (agents for Zoom Rockman) with BYO Collective handling marketing and distribution.
Exceptional Agency is producing of this film, working closely with incredible individuals such as Nigel Canin, Zoom Rockman, Kate Lennard, Isobel Aptaker, Oliver Brooks, Rachel Mansson, Matthew White, Erran Baron Cohen and many others. We have received guidance and feedback from Jewish Care’s Holocaust Survivors’ Centre, Holocaust Educational Trust Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, The National Holocaust Centre and Museum, Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site as well as from many individual researchers, historians, educators and schools.
Most importantly, we have had the support of the truly wonderful Ivor Perl and his remarkable family.
The film has been produced at lightning speed to ensure it reaches as many people as possible in 2025, marking eighty years since the liberation of thousands of concentration camps and sub-camps across German-occupied Europe.
We will be screening “Survivor” at MIPCOM Cannes 2024 on October 21st and arranging private screenings.
